Owner, Supervisor

Welcome!

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists in Louisville, KY in private practice and online via telehealth.

Background:

In 2012 I received my MS in Marriage, Family and Community Counseling at CSU Sacramento. Prior to that I attended the University of Arizona, where I earned a Bachelor's in Psychology and Art History.

Before moving to Louisville, I lived and worked in the San Francisco Bay Area teaching and counseling. During this time I had the opportunity to work with a diverse community and learn about a wide range of life experiences. Learning about other's experiences is one of my favorite things about being a therapist, and not to sound cheesy, but it's always an honor to go on this journey with you!

In 2015 I relocated to Louisville and began practicing at Northstar Counseling Center, before moving out on my own. In 2020 I started a side project called Mental Health Lou that serves as a community mental wellness hub (more on that here.)

Approach:

In practice I take a creative and holistic approach to each client. From my work I have learned that often our mental health symptoms manifest both mentally and physically. In treatment I will explore how your daily habits, past experiences, sleep, nutrition and exercise factor in to your mental health. By taking this thorough approach I have seen my clients make fast and sustaining changes in their lives.

Therapeutic Techniques include:

Internal Family Systems, EMDR, Person Centered Approach and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction tools.

Insurance and Payment:

I accept:

Humana, Aetna, Anthem and United plans as well as HSA/FSA cards.

Private pay sliding scale options are also available $85-125 per hour.

*GOOD FAITH ESTIMATES available prior to services.

Who I work best with:

I have had success working with many different types of clients and work hard to create a therapeutic environment where you feel welcomed and heard. Many of my clients are high achievers and creative individuals seeking balance in their lives. Together we work on helping them identify old patterns and beliefs, releasing those habits and developing new skills to help them become their true selves.

Clients have described me as compassionate, insightful and engaging. I also self describe as a gregarious introvert is who is often nerdy and sarcastic (but only when appropriate).
